Technical Advisor, Mobile Cranes - Biggleswade

Technical Advisor / Product Support Engineer – Mobile & Crawler Crane

Within Liebherr-Great Britain & Liebherr Ireland, a prominent vacancy has opened in the Mobile & Crawler Crane department. Based in Biggleswade, this role plays a pivotal role in ensuring sustained industry-leading after-sales support, enhancing business growth through collaboration with Sales and After-Sales teams.

The position requires technical expertise, exceptional support deliverables, and strong cross-departmental collaboration. You’ll act as a critical link between customers, engineers, and technical resources while upholding the company’s core values: Business Performance, Customer Focus, People and Teamwork, and Leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic technical support for Liebherr-Great Britain and Liebherr Ireland Mobile & Crawler Crane customers, addressing their queries with precision.
  • Assist field service and workshop engineers in troubleshooting, information dissemination, and technical advisory.
  • Participate in cross-departmental support, ensuring seamless collaboration within Liebherr-Great Britain (LGB) & Liebherr Ireland (LIR) as required.
  • Maintain exceptional internal relationships to maintain high service standards across teams.
  • Disseminate critical technical information promptly to relevant stakeholders, incorporating insights from Liebherr Group factories.
  • Manage technical projects, overseeing timelines and ensuring successful completion.
  • Lead warranty work processes, liaising between Liebherr factories, customers, and in-house teams to deliver favourable outcomes for all.
  • Deploy and brief engineers efficiently, ensuring optimal resources align with job/project requirements.
  • Investigate anomalous incidents, accidents, or customer technical challenges in collaboration with colleagues—document findings for high-stakes scrutiny.
  • Attend offsite meetings, exhibitions, and overseas engagements, including overnight travel as required.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call rota system for out-of-hours emergencies.

Profile Requirements

Ideal candidates will be equipped with:

  • A successfully completed apprenticeship/qualification aligned to:
    • Engineering, crane technology, or relevant mechanical/technical sector.
  • Product or industry-specific experience (e.g., crane maintenance, servicing, or after-sales support).
  • A strong track record of teamwork, able to function collaboratively across diverse departments.
  • Exemplary communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts clearly and confidently at all levels.
  • A flexible and adaptable mindset to manage dynamic work scenarios.
