A leading global insurance organisation, is seeking an experienced Technical Architect with strong IBM i / AS400 (iSeries) expertise to join their Application Solutions team. This role will play a key part in a high-profile programme to migrate a large estate of business-critical IBM i applications between data centres.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical architecture and design of IBM i / AS400 application migration initiatives.
- Define migration and transition strategies for business-critical applications moving between data centres.
- Assess application dependencies, integrations, interfaces, and infrastructure requirements.
- Produce solution designs, architecture documentation, and migration roadmaps.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and project teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the migration lifecycle.
- Support wider application modernisation and transformation initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership and architecture governance across the programme.

Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Technical Architect, Solution Architect, or Application Architect.
- Strong background within AS400 / iSeries environments.
- Experience delivering data centre, hosting, or large-scale application migration programmes.
- Strong understanding of complex application landscapes and business-critical systems.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience within the insurance sector (desirable)
- Knowledge of the Genius insurance platform (desirable)
