Technical Architect Required
For a global IT services company based in Birmingham, we are looking to engage with candidates who have strong cloud experience around Azure. You will work closely with customers and stakeholders designing Azure landing zones, providing advice/guidance on best practices and work closely with the business to execute any cloud-based deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Authoring Low Level Design (LLD) documentation to a high technical standard.
- Aligning deliveries to Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
- Designing Azure Landing Zones (Azure foundation platform) with focus on Infrastructure-as-Code methods.
- Following Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD) best-practices using Azure DevOps build and release pipelines.
- Working across both waterfall and agile cloud migrations and cloud transformational projects.
- Providing updates on Azure enhancements to Azure Solution Architects and the wider team, ensuring industry and Microsoft best practices are adhered to.
- Ensuring Microsoft and industry security best practices are adhered to.
- Contributing to our centralised code base.

Skills/Experience

- At least 2 years’ experience delivering Azure IaaS/PaaS solutions with an infrastructure focus. Including but not limited to – Compute, Storage, Networks, Monitoring, Management, Backup.
- At least 1 year in a client facing role.
- Demonstrable risk management knowledge.
- Experience working within an Agile team environment.
- Excellent skills in at least one of following: ARM and/or Terraform.
- Understanding of Subscriptions, Resource Groups, Azure Polices & Role Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Experience implementing Hub-Spoke network topologies, Virtual Network (vNET) peering, Network Security Groups (NSG), Public IP addresses (PIP), Site-to-Site VPN and Azure load-balancers.
- Experience deploying and configuring Log Analytics workspaces.
- Experience implementing Azure Backup and configuring backup policies.
- Experience implementing Azure Key Vault and collecting secrets during the deployment using ARM templates.
- Experience deploying Virtual Machines using specific VM SKU types
- Experience deploying Virtual Machines using specific Azure Disk requirements including, managed disk types, data redundancy and access tiers.
- Experience deploying Highly Available Virtual Machines using Availability Sets.
- Understanding of Highly Available Virtual Machine deployments using Availability Zones.
