Technical Architect (Java & OAuth) • SC Eligible • 6 Month Contract • Telford
About the Role
We are a Global Recruitment specialist supporting clients across EMEA, APAC, US and Canada. We’re looking for a Technical Architect (Java & OAuth) to shape architecture directions, create robust designs, and ensure solutions meet technical and business needs while aligning with scalability, security, and maintainability standards. You’ll collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and delivery partners, guiding their work while ensuring safe, effective delivery.
Responsibilities
- Forge high-quality architecture designs that satisfy both technical and commercial requirements
- Align technical approaches with Collaborate with delivery teams, product owners, engineers, and testers to implement feasible and secure solutions
- Translate complex requirements into clear, pragmatic design decisions
- Develop architecture documents, diagrams, and supporting notes for review
- Trumpet security compliance, governance, and reliability in all aspects of the architecture
- Aid teams through build, testing, deployment, and resolution of changes
- Drive design reviews and provide technical sign-off
- Explain architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proactively identify risks, constraints, and obstacles and assist in their resolution

Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills
- Java development expertise
- Deep understanding of Spring Framework
- Hands-on experience with OAuth and authentication protocols
- Extensive server-side engineering & backend development background
Platform & Infrastructure Skills
- Docker (containerisation)
- Kubernetes (container orchestration)
Domain & Architecture Knowledge
- Familiarity with IASS architecture best practices
- Experience designing in identity/access or secure service environments (implied via OAuth/IASS expertise)
