Technical Architect
About The Practice
Our client is an AJ100 architecture practice recognised for its commitment to design quality, technical excellence, and sustainable delivery. Their Technical Services Team sits at the heart of the studio’s success, providing expert guidance to project teams on construction detailing, specification writing, and regulatory compliance.
Working alongside the Director of Legal and Technical Services, this team ensures that every project is delivered with precision, clarity, and buildable quality — supporting architects and job runners across the practice while upholding industry-leading standards.
About The Role
We’re seeking a Technical Architect, Architectural Assistant, or Technologist with 7–10 years’ professional experience and strong RIBA Stage 4–5 knowledge. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical and procedural aspects of architecture and thrives on helping others achieve excellence.
You’ll collaborate across multiple design teams, reviewing projects, providing guidance on detailing and specification, and contributing to in-house CPDs and technical research. This is not a design role, but rather an opportunity to shape best practice within one of London’s most respected studios.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
