Technical Assistant
Technical Assistant – Food Safety, Quality & Compliance Location: Worksop, Nottinghamshire Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time (Monday–Friday) Closing Date: 13th July 2026
Join us if you’re passionate about food safety, quality, and continuous improvement. We’re looking for a proactive Technical Assistant to support our Technical team in maintaining rigorous compliance, product quality, and operational excellence at our manufacturing site.
About the Role
This exhilarating opportunity is for a motivated, detail-oriented professional eager to grow within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You’ll play a valualbe role in upholding BRC certification, supporting audits, and ensuring the strictest food safety, quality, legality, and authenticity standards are met across the production site.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures site-wide.
- Champion a positive food safety and quality culture through engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain technical records, registers, logs, and documentation with meticulous accuracy.
- Compile, analyse, and distribute technical data to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure technical documentation and materials are readily available for production when needed.
- Coordinate customer complaint samples and distribute them to relevant teams.
- Conduct and support audits across the site, including:
- GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)
- EFK (Environmental Food Control)
- CCP (Critical Control Points)
- Organise and execute sampling and testing schedules, covering:
- Microbiological tests
- Allergen detection
- Vegan product verification
- Raw material analysis
- TUL (Traceability, Usage, and Labelling) inspections
- Calibrate technical equipment as per established schedules.
- Assist in internal and external audits and guide corrective action follow-ups.
- Support traceability exercises and investigations.
- Track audit non-conformances, assign them to action owners, and monitor completion.
- Provide holistic support to the Technical Lead, including covering key responsibilities during absences.

About You
We’re seeking a self-motivated, highly organised individual with an eagle eye for detail—someone who can thrive independently while collaborating effectively across business teams.
Essential Requirements
- Basic knowledge of Quality and Food Safety procedures (food manufacturing).
- Familiarity (or willingness to develop) with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Core IT skills.
- Strong administrative and organisational abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask efficiently, prioritising workloads without oversight.

Desirable (but not essential)
- Food Hygiene Level 2 certification.
- HACCP Level 2 qualification.
- Internal Audit Training experience (any sector).
- Pest Control Training grounding.
- In-depth knowledge of technical/quality systems (e.g.,; Intralox or similar software).
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, Quality, or Safety environments.
