Security Clearance Requirement

Due to the role's nature, you must undergo Developed Vetting (DV) Level Security Clearance under UK Standard Security Authority guidance.

  • If successful, you may receive an indication of £5k annual allowance for security clearance costs (paid monthly), subject to role requirements.

About The Role

As a Technical Author, you’ll drive the technical documentation programme, ensuring alignment with AIA/ASD S-Series specifications, Defence Logistics Framework (DLF), and ITIL methodologies. Your responsibilities include:

  • Implementing the Technical Documentation Management Plan (TDMP) and overseeing all related documentation, contracts, and programme plans.
  • Co-ordinating technical authoring for the System Awareness (SA) library, gathering, reviewing, and standardising data from subcontractors.
  • Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop technical asset documentation.
  • Supporting the BT Information and Logistics Support Manager (ILSM) in contract negotiations and sub-contractor evaluations.
  • Attending project reviews and advising on technical documentation issues with proactive insight.

The ideal candidate brings a mix of technical precision, leadership, and documentation expertise to our dynamic security environment.


Key Responsibilities

Core Work

  • Manage and execute the Technical Documentation Programme (TDMP), ensuring timelines, standards, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Oversee contractual and regulatory documentation adherence (e.g., MoD standards Def. Stan. 00-600 / 00-601 / S1000D).
  • Act as a bridge between SMEs and ILSM, yielding structured insights for documentation gaps/initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams during project reviews for continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical documentation consultation to project leads.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven technical authoring/quality-driven environment experience (regulated industry or대한국 defences preferred).
  • Mastery of: MS Excel (advanced formulas/styling), MS Word (style/manual cross-references), Adobe Acrobat Pro (PDF manipulation).
  • Strong verbal/written communication to translate complex engineering speccifications into clear documentation.
  • Firsthand knowledge of MoD documentation standards (Def. Stan. 00-600 / 00-601 / S1000D structure/implementation).
