Technical Author

We are looking for an experienced Technical Author to join our team and support the delivery of clear, accurate, and controlled technical documentation for advanced scientific equipment.

In this role, you will work closely with engineers, technical specialists, and internal stakeholders to turn complex source information into high-quality publications for customers, service engineers, and internal teams. You will play an important part in ensuring our documentation is consistent, traceable, and managed through formal review and release processes.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Creating and maintaining clear, accurate, and compliant technical documentation for complex scientific and engineering products
  • Producing manuals, guides, procedures, and other controlled technical publications
  • Using MadCap Flare to author, update, and manage structured technical content
  • Working with engineers and subject matter experts to interpret technical data, drawings, specifications, and source material
  • Supporting formal review, approval, and release processes for customer-facing and internal documentation
  • Maintaining document control, revision history, and traceability in line with defined processes
  • Contributing to improvements in technical writing standards, illustration quality, and publication workflows

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Technical Author or Technical Writer in an engineering, manufacturing, scientific, aerospace, or defence environment
  • Strong working knowledge of MadCap Flare
  • Experience producing controlled technical documentation such as user manuals, installation guides, maintenance procedures, or service documentation
  • Good understanding of document control, revision management, and formal publication or release processes
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and other source information accurately
  • Strong written English, attention to detail, and a clear, structured writing style
  • Ability to work effectively with engineers, service teams, and other technical stakeholders
