Technical Author

Technical Author – Documentation Production

The post holder will be responsible for producing technical documentation to support products in-service. As a Technical Author, you will collaborate with various departments to gather information and create accurate and clear maintenance and training documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Producing Component Maintenance Manuals to the ATA iSpec 2200 standard
  • Creating training manuals for both crew and maintenance personnel
  • Working with the engineering design team to produce Installation Documentation to the standard specified by the Aircraft OEM
  • Managing workloads to meet timely delivery deadlines for all documentation
  • Developing Service Bulletins to implement design changes on current in-service programs
  • Issuing Service Information Letters providing advisory information or maintenance clarifications
  • Generating Temporary Revisions to update maintenance data and/or parts within the Component Maintenance Manuals
  • Attending project milestones and customer meetings as required

Requirements

Essential

  • A relevant degree in Manufacturing/Engineering or equivalent experience within an Engineering discipline
  • Strong technical and scientific knowledge with the ability to apply it to practical maintenance and engineering problems
  • Good understanding of authoring software and industry-standard documentation practices
  • Background in information gathering and research
  • Ability to clearly convey complex technical content in written maintenance instructions
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence in engaging multiple stakeholders
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team
