We are seeking an experienced Technical Author / Technical Documentation & Knowledge Management Specialist to join a high-performing team supporting enterprise-scale services and technology platforms.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence, service continuity, incident readiness, and knowledge management across critical business and technology functions. You'll work closely with architects, engineers, service teams, and business stakeholders to create and maintain high-quality documentation that supports live services, operational resilience, and continuous improvement.
📍 Leeds / London, UK (Hybrid – 3 Days Office Based)

What You'll Be Doing
- Create, maintain, and improve a wide range of documentation including:
- Technical system documentation
- API documentation
- Integration and implementation guides
- Support and operational procedures
- Knowledge base articles
- Service transition documentation
- Own and manage knowledge repositories, ensuring content is:
- Accurate
- Accessible
- Well-structured
- Version controlled
- Regularly reviewed and updated
- Collaborate with:
- Software Developers
- Solution Architects
- Product Owners
- Service Management Teams
- Business Stakeholders
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, audience-appropriate content.
- Develop and maintain:
- Runbooks
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Operational Support Guides
- Incident Response Documentation
- Service Recovery Documentation
- Support organisational readiness through comprehensive documentation for:
- Incident Management
- Major Incident Response
- Disaster Recovery
- Business Continuity
- Service Restoration and Resilience
- Drive documentation standards, governance, consistency, and knowledge management best practices across the organisation.

What We're Looking For
- 10–12 years of experience in Technical Author, Technical Writer, Documentation Specialist, Knowledge Management, or similar roles.
- Proven experience producing enterprise-level technical and operational documentation.
- Strong understanding of:
- IT Operations
- Service Management
- Service Transition
- Incident & Problem Management
- Knowledge Management Frameworks
- Experience documenting:
- Enterprise applications
- Cloud platforms
- Infrastructure environments
- Operational support models
- Ability to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Exceptional written communication, organisation, and attention to detail.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for improving documentation quality and operational readiness.
