Technical Business Analyst
3 Month Initial Contract | Outside IR35 | £400-420 per day
Hybrid – 2-3 days per week in Swindon
We're working with a well-established organisation embarking on a major technology transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support the delivery of a business-critical platform initiative.
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative technology team working on complex system integration, data migration and digital transformation projects within a regulated environment. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, gathering requirements, analysing existing processes and ensuring solutions are successfully delivered through to implementation.
The Role
You'll be responsible for translating business requirements into clear technical deliverables, supporting solution design and working closely with architects, developers, third-party suppliers and business stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
This is a hands-on Business Analyst role requiring someone who is comfortable operating in both business and technical conversations.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading workshops to elicit and document business and technical requirements
- Producing high-quality functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria
- Analysing existing business processes and defining future-state processes
- Supporting complex system integration initiatives across multiple platforms
- Working closely with engineering teams to ensure requirements are fully understood and delivered
- Supporting data migration activities, including mapping, validation and reconciliation
- Collaborating with technical teams on API integrations between internal and third-party systems
- Producing high-quality documentation including process maps, business cases and governance artefacts
- Managing stakeholder expectations across both Technology and the wider business
- Supporting testing, defect triage and business readiness activities throughout delivery

Essential Skills & Experience
We're looking for candidates with demonstrable experience in most of the following:
- Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst delivering complex technology projects
- Strong experience gathering and documenting both business and technical requirements
- Experience producing detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for Agile delivery teams
- Significant experience working on system integration projects
- Strong understanding of API integrations, including working alongside developers and solution architects
- Experience supporting data migration programmes, including data mapping, validation and reconciliation
- Experience working across multiple business and technical stakeholders
- Strong process analysis and process improvement skills
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
- Ability to produce clear, concise technical and business documentation

Nice to Have
The following would be highly advantageous:
- Experience within Financial Services, Insurance or another regulated industry
- Experience working on digital transformation or platform modernisation programmes
- Knowledge of CRM, adviser or customer-facing platforms
- Understanding of enterprise architecture and integration patterns
- Experience working with third-party software vendors
- Familiarity with Azure integration services or cloud-based platforms
- Experience supporting governance, change management and delivery assurance activities
What's on Offer
