Technical Business Analyst
Location: Essex (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £60,000–£64,000 + Benefits
Benefits: 10% Bonus, Private Medical Insurance, 25 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays

The Role
We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst with a strong background in Business Intelligence, data management, and analytics to join a growing data function. This role will sit between the business and technical teams, gathering requirements, driving data initiatives, and ensuring robust governance processes are in place across a complex data environment.
You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges, translate requirements into technical solutions, and support the continued development of the organization's reporting and analytics capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse and document business and technical requirements.
- Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
- Support the design and implementation of data and reporting solutions.
- Work with large datasets to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with BI and Data teams to enhance reporting capabilities and data accessibility.
- Ensure data governance, security, and compliance requirements are adhered to.
- Support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and data access controls for sensitive information.
- Drive best practice around data quality, governance, and reporting standards.

Skills & Experience Required
- 3–5 years' experience in a Technical Business Analyst, BI Analyst, or similar data-focused role.
- Strong SQL skills with experience querying and analysing large datasets.
- Daily use of Power BI, including report and dashboard development.
- Experience eliciting and documenting business and technical requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, and information security principles.
- Experience working with sensitive or regulated data.

Desirable Experience
- Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps.
- Azure data services and cloud-based data environments.
- Microsoft Fabric and DirectLake architecture.
- Experience supporting modern cloud-based analytics platforms.
- Exposure to data modelling, ETL processes, or data warehousing concepts.
