I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You'll be responsible for understanding business challenges, translating requirements into technical solutions, and building tools using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Pages), SharePoint, and AI solutions.
This is not a traditional BA role. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of solutions from idea through to implementation, working directly with senior stakeholders and influencing the future direction of digital transformation initiatives.
We're looking for someone with:
- 7+ years' experience across business analysis, software development, automation, digital transformation, or process engineering.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, and ideally Power Pages). This is an essential requirement.
- Hands-on SharePoint development and workflow automation experience.
- Experience translating complex business requirements into practical digital solutions.
- Experience improving business processes through automation and technology.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell or JavaScript), APIs, GitHub/Azure DevOps, or AI tools would be highly advantageous.
- Exposure to financial services, insurance, regulation, or risk would be beneficial, but is not essential.
