Technical Claims Manager
An excellent role has arisen for a Technical Claims Manager to join a growing legal services business in West Yorkshire. This senior technical leadership role is focused on setting legal standards, governance, and litigation frameworks for a portal claims team.

Role Description
The Technical Claims Manager will be:
- Owning the legal and technical strategy for OIC and MOJ portal claims, setting clear case handling standards and decision frameworks
- Acting as the senior solicitor responsible for litigation oversight, ensuring matters are handled in line with CPR, SRA requirements, and professional duties
- Building and supporting a new portal claims team as part of a smaller operations leadership group responsible for around 80 people
- Leading technical assurance, audit, and governance across portal and non-portal claims, identifying risk, quality issues, and improvement opportunities
- Setting the criteria for case movement, including when matters should exit the portal, change track, or be escalated for specialist handling

Profile
The Technical Claims Manager should be:
- A solicitor with strong experience across OIC and MOJ portal claims
- Experienced in RTA, personal injury, or motor claims work, from either a claimant or defendant background
- Confident supervising litigation and applying CPR, small claims, and fast-track procedures
- Able to influence at leadership level and provide clear technical direction to operational and legal teams
- Experienced in technical audit, quality assurance, case strategy, regulatory compliance, or legal governance
- A strong coach who can build legal capability, support fee earners, and help raise technical standards across a high-volume claims environment

Job Offer
This is a standout opportunity to take on a senior technical role within a growing legal claims function, with the chance to shape a newly created portal claims team and have real influence over standards, risk, and legal quality.
The package includes a salary of £60,000 to £70,000, 10% bonus, 10% pension contribution, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, private medical cover, and hybrid working. The business also offers condensed working weeks once a month, giving colleagues the opportunity to gain up to 12 additional days off each year.
