Company Description

Cubly is building the future of frontline retail learning by transforming how global brands train their teams on product knowledge.

The platform combines AI, gamification, and immersive 3D experiences to turn static training materials into interactive learning journeys.

Currently at the pre-seed stage, Cubly is partnering with pilot brands to validate and refine its next-generation retail enablement technology. The company is focused on empowering retail teams with tools that make learning more effective, engaging, and performance-driven.

Role Description

The Technical Cofounder will lead the development, and scaling of Cubly’s core platform and technical architecture in a remote capacity. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Building and iterating on prototypes
  • Implementing features that leverage AI, gamification, and 3D experiences for retail learning

This role will collaborate closely with the founding team on:

  • Product strategy
  • Customer discovery
  • Integration with pilot brand environments

The Technical Cofounder will also:

  • Establish engineering best practices
  • Select appropriate tools and frameworks
  • Ensure the platform is secure, scalable, and maintainable

As a cofounding partner, this role includes significant ownership, involvement in fundraising and investor conversations, and leadership in building the initial engineering team.

Qualifications

  • Experience in software engineering and architecture for web-based or SaaS products, including designing scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.
  • Hands-on proficiency with modern development frameworks, APIs, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) for building production-ready applications.
  • Background in or strong interest in AI/ML-driven features, data-driven personalization, or recommendation systems applied to learning or user engagement.
  • Experience with interactive or immersive technologies (e.g., game engines, 3D frameworks, or rich front-end experiences) is key.
  • Ability to translate product concepts into technical plans, collaborate with non-technical stakeholders, and iterate quickly based on user feedback.
  • Comfort working in an early-stage startup, including ambiguity, rapid experimentation, and building from zero to one.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, clear written and verbal communication, and a collaborative, inclusive approach to teamwork.
  • Prior startup or founding experience, and familiarity with retail, learning technologies, or B2B software is a plus.
