Technical Consultant
Technical Consultant (ITSM) – Full Time, Contract or Permanent
Location: UK / Hybrid Department: Professional Services
About the Role
We are looking for experienced Technical Consultants to join our Professional Services team.
This physiological role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working directly with customers to:
- Understand business challenges
- Design solutions
- Deliver successful software implementations
You will act as a trusted advisor, helping organisations improve their service management capabilities through:
- Consultancy
- Configuration
- Implementation
- Best practice guidance
Key Responsibilities
As a Technical Consultant, you will:
- Analyse customer requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
- Configure and deploy Marval’s ITSM software, ensuring seamless adoption
- Provide technical guidance from implementation through post-implementation phases
- Troubleshoot issues and deliver high-quality technical support
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to resolve complex problems
- Consult on ITSM best practices (e.g., ITIL principles)
- Prepare documentation, conduct product demonstrations, and assist in pre-sales activities
- Build strong customer relationships and support digital transformation initiatives
- Optimise service management processes using Marval’s enterprise platforms

Requirements
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Experience implementing enterprise software solutions
- Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL principles
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer outcomes
- Experience gathering requirements and translating them into technical specifications
- Hands-on experience with:
- Marval MSM
- ITSM tools
- Software implementation/consultancy environments (advantageous)
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills to assess environments, interpret data, and design solutions
- Proven consulting experience, including:
- Requirements gathering
- ITIL/ITSM best practice advisory
- Solution design and adoption guidance
- Technical troubleshooting expertise, with an ability to:
- Diagnose problems
- Identify root causes
- Provide clear, actionable resolutions
- Sales or pre-sales experience, such as:
- Participating in product demonstrations
- Technical proposal contributions
- Solution presentations
- Familiarity with:
- IT Service Management frameworks (e.g., ITIL)
- Enterprise software implementation methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly and effectively
- Ability to:
- Work independently in a remote environment
- Manage priorities
- Collaborate with distributed teams
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in:
- Information Technology
- Computer Science
- Engineering
- Related field
- Advantageous: Experience with:
- Integrations and APIs
- Enterprise IT tools (e.g., ticketing systems, monitoring platforms)
- Customer-facing technical roles in SaaS or enterprise software environments
