Are you a hands-on technical leader with a passion for solving complex problems in wealth management technology? Our client, a global leader in wealth management and advice technology, is looking for a Technical Consultant to join their team in Sydney.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the intersection of enterprise architecture, cloud engineering, and financial services innovation, playing a pivotal role across major client engagements while mentoring the next generation of technical talent.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading technical solution design and architecture across major client engagements
- Acting as a trusted technical advisor to clients, translating platform capabilities into real business value
- Mentoring junior Technical Consultants and driving technical excellence across the team
- Contributing to pre-sales activity — RFI/RFP responses, technical workshops, and client demos
- Partnering with Project Managers, Technical Architects, and Business Analysts to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions

Your Tech Stack
Backend & Frameworks: Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate
Frontend: HTML5, AngularJS / EmberJS / ReactJS
Architecture: OOAD, SOA, RESTful & SOAP web services (XML/JSON)
Cloud: AWS (Lambda, SQS/SNS), SaaS solution design
Messaging: AMQP/RabbitMQ
App Servers: JBoss, WebSphere
Data: ANSI SQL, SQL Server
DevOps: Maven, Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Docker, Kubernetes
Bonus points for recent hands-on experience using AI in application development.

What You'll Need
- Proven experience architecting multi-tier, complex web applications
- A track record leading end-to-end technical solution design across cross-functional teams
- Experience delivering mission-critical, highly resilient, scalable systems
- Strong grounding in Agile delivery
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills — you enjoy untangling complex, cross-functional issues
