As a Technical Consultant at Cocentric, you’ll help clients design, implement and optimise their digital workplace using Microsoft 365 and complementary digital experience technologies. You will combine technical problem‑solving with consulting skills to translate business needs into practical, secure and scalable solutions.
You’ll work directly with clients across IT, Communications, HR and Security teams, acting as a trusted technical advisor while supporting hands‑on configuration, integrations, troubleshooting and solution design.
This is a UK-based position operating out of our Leith Walk office in Edinburgh, with flexible working in place to allow working from home as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES Client & Solutions Delivery Work with clients to understand their business needs, challenges and requirements. Translate requirements into technical recommendations and solution approaches. Configure and deploy Microsoft 365 services including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online and related tools. Lead or support the technical delivery of Modern Work solutions, ensuring they meet architectural, security and compliance expectations. Troubleshoot issues, provide workarounds, and support users during adoption phases. Document configurations, architecture decisions and best practices. Technical Analysis & Integration Explore and assess platform capabilities, including reviewing API documentation, integration options and Power Platform extensibility. Advise clients on what is technically possible and feasible within Microsoft 365, Azure and other SaaS platforms. Support integrations with products such as Workvivo, Staffbase and Cocentric’s proprietary services. Consulting & Collaboration Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions and requirement‑gathering activities. Collaborate with architects, developers and fellow consultants to design and deliver solutions. Work with IT admins, InfoSec, HR and Comms teams to ensure solutions are secure, compliant and fit for purpose. Contribute to pre‑sales through demos, technical input to proposals and scoping work. Continuous Improvement Stay up to date with the latest Microsoft Modern Work updates, AI capabilities, and security features. Share knowledge and contribute to internal enablement, documentation and practice development.

CAPABILITIES Core Skills Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online) and general SaaS platforms. Ability to design, configure and troubleshoot M365 and Modern Work solutions. Experience analysing APIs, integrations and platform capabilities. Understanding of Azure, Power Platform and common integration patterns. Ability to solve ambiguous problems through technical research and experimentation. Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical users. Experience working with enterprise clients in consulting, support, or technical roles. Understanding of security, compliance and governance considerations in cloud environments.

Secondary/Desirable Skills Experience migrating clients to Microsoft 365 and/or Azure. Certifications in Microsoft 365 or Azure. Understanding of licensing models and feature entitlements. Experience with automation or scripting (Power Automate, PowerShell). Exposure to modern web frameworks (React, Angular) beneficial but not required.
