Position Overview

As a Technical Consultant (Technical Lead Internally), consult, guide, and shape customer strategies and services within our defined areas of responsibility. Play a crucial role in designing and implementing the necessary tooling to align with our customers' digital roadmaps while supporting day-to-day operations. This role predominantly focuses on Microsoft Cloud technologies, specifically the Modern Workplace and Azure technologies, requiring subject matter expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Consulting & Guidance: Collaborating with clients to understand their digital transformation needs and providing expert advice on technical solutions.
  • Design & Implementation: Shaping, designing, and implementing tooling and solutions that meet the requirements of customers’ digital strategies.
  • Technical Leadership: Acting as a key figure in internal and customer technical design authorities, establishing standards and approaches based on deep subject matter expertise.
  • Project Management: Participating in project estimation and scoping, ensuring projects are accurately defined, delivered on time, and within budget.
  • Collaboration: Maintaining strong relationships with the Technical Operations team, Account Management, Service Delivery, and the BAU team to facilitate seamless support and issue resolution.
  • Monitoring & Governance: Implementing monitoring, alerting, and operational governance within Azure to ensure a strong security posture and regulatory compliance.
  • Documentation: Ensuring all solutions are fully documented, supportable, and transitioned into managed services with clear ownership and SLAs.

Hybrid working

This role requires an onsite presence of up to 3 days a week with the client in Central London.

Essential

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms (compute, storage, networking, identity, collaboration services).
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing secure, scalable cloud solutions across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Understanding of Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, Conditional Access, and cloud security principles.
  • Experience implementing Zero Trust principles across identity, device, and data layers.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft security tools (Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Sentinel).
  • Expertise in cloud migration approaches (lift-and-shift, re-platforming, refactoring).
  • Knowledge of Azure networking concepts (VNets, firewalls, private endpoints, hybrid connectivity).
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities across cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Experience in project scoping and solution estimation (effort sizing, assumptions, dependencies, risk identification).
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Security Engineer).

Preferred

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates).
  • Background in building and managing CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
  • Understanding of containerization and modern workloads (e.g., AKS, serverless).
