Technical Control Room Operator

About The Role

We're offering an exciting opportunity for a Technical Control Room Operator to join and help lead our Renewables Control Centre. In this pivotal role, you'll ensure the safe and efficient operation of renewable assets on a global scale. Your responsibilities will include overseeing site access control, monitored handovers of plants, real-time performance tracking, safety compliance, and remote monitoring using operation management software for BESS, Wind and Solar PV technology. If you're detail-oriented, have strong analytical and communication skills, and thrive in a dynamic work environment, we encourage you to be a vital part of our team.

What You Will Do

  • Facilitate controlled visitor access to sites, ensuring effective and transparent communication.
  • Monitor renewable assets through cutting-edge SCADA systems and our operational management software, promptly addressing alarms and faults.
  • Maintain up-to-date work control records and comprehensive plant life history records.
  • Ensure the safe release of plants under the appropriate safe system of work, performing the role of Technical Control Room Operator under the relevant Wind Turbine Safety Rules.
  • Foster clear and efficient communication with O&M Contractors, customers, and external partners.
  • Act as a central point of contact for health and safety-related incidents, swiftly escalating and reporting when necessary.
  • Keep a vigilant eye on weather forecasts, issuing timely alerts when needed to ensure safety.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, shaping the future of our Control Centre services and processes.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • Experience of working in a Control Centre environment or working with SCADA systems within power generation.
  • Knowledge of Wind Turbine safety rules and safe systems of work.
  • Fully IT literate.
  • Ability to work with multiple systems and processes.
  • Ability to remain calm and apply logical and structured thinking and actions in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills, who can effectively work with colleagues to achieve common goals and promote a positive work environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

Working Hours

Full-time position with a rotating shift pattern.

Covering core hours between 06:00 – 20:00 on weekdays and 08:30 – 16:30 on weekends.
