About the Role

We're offering an exciting opportunity for a Technical Control Room Operator to join and help lead our Renewables Control Centre.

In this pivotal role, you'll ensure the safe and efficient operation of renewable assets on a global scale. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing site access control
  • Monitoring handovers of plants
  • Performing real-time performance tracking
  • Ensuring safety compliance
  • Conducting remote monitoring using operational management software for BESS, Wind, and Solar PV technology

What You Will Do

  • You will be responsible for facilitating controlled visitor access to sites, ensuring effective and transparent communication.
  • You will monitor renewable assets through cutting-edge SCADA systems and our operational management software, promptly addressing alarms and faults.
  • You will maintain up-to-date work control records and comprehensive plant life history records.
  • You will play a crucial role in day-to-day work, ensuring the safe release of plants under the appropriate safe system of work, performing the role of Technical Control Room Operator under the relevant Wind Turbine Safety Rules.
  • You will be responsible for fostering clear and efficient communication with:
    • O&M Contractors
    • Customers
    • External partners
  • You will act as a central point of contact for health and safety-related incidents, swiftly escalating and reporting when necessary.
  • You will keep a vigilant eye on weather forecasts, issuing timely alerts when needed to ensure safety.
  • You will drive continuous improvement, contributing to the evolution and enhancement of Control Centre services and processes to shape the future of renewable energy.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Experience of working in a Control Centre environment or with SCADA systems within power generation
  • Knowledge of Wind Turbine safety rules and safe systems of work
  • Fully IT literate
  • Ability to work with multiple systems and processes
  • Ability to remain calm and apply logical and structured thinking in high-pressure situations
  • A strong team player with excellent collaboration skills, able to achieve common goals and promote a positive work environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality

Working Hours

  • Full-time position with a rotating shift pattern, covering:
    • 06:00 – 20:00 on weekdays
    • 08:30 – 16:30 on weekends
