The Technical Coordination Manager provides senior-level oversight and leadership across the Technical Coordination department, which is responsible for planning event equipment logistics, reservations, internal transfers, support, and subrentals.
The role carries accountability for driving process improvements, mentoring junior coordinators, and serving as the primary point of escalation for complex inventory, logistical, and scheduling challenges across regional and global operations.
The role requires a strong industry knowledge across audio, video, lighting & rigging disciplines combined with the leadership capability to ensure that equipment workflows are executed efficiently, accurately and in alignment with project timelines and business objectives.

Your day will look like:
- Lead and oversee the Technical Coordination team's day-to-day output, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to deadlines across all active projects.
- Direct the planning and execution of equipment logistics for transfers based on site/regional availability across the inventory system.
- Analyse and interpret inventory data via R2 and PowerBI to inform operational decisions and identify capacity risks ahead of project deadlines.
- Serve as the senior liaison between Technical Coordination and account representatives, project managers, and department directors on all equipment availability matters.
- Oversee the full subrental lifecycle — from identifying requirements and evaluating vendor quotes through to purchase order generation and timely equipment return.
- Collaborate with global coordination and warehouse teams to ensure inventory movement meets project deadlines, escalating and resolving blockers as required.
- Maintain oversight of active orders to ensure reservation and return dates are accurate, directing the team to resolve discrepancies proactively.
- Act as the escalation point for damaged equipment situations, working alongside project management to develop and implement resolution plans.
- Drive continuous improvement across coordination workflows, systems usage, and team capability, identifying and implementing process efficiencies.
- Champion quality standards, policy adherence, and the promotion of company values.
- Any other reasonable ad-hoc requests as required by your manager.

Essential skills / experience:
- General technical knowledge of all the following departments (sound, lighting, video and rigging)
- Very strong knowledge of the rental industry in the entertainment and corporate sectors.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, etc.)
- Excellent ability to perform administrative tasks
- Knowledge of the R2 system
- Excellent leadership skills
- Excellent sense of priorities and schedule management
- Excellent analytical, planning and organisational ability.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and adaptability to change.
- Strong communication skills, ability to communicate information clearly and logically.

Desirable skills / experience:
- Knowledge of AutoCAD software
Essential requirements:
- Right to work and remain in the UK
- Flexibility to work unsociable hours as required in addition to your normal hours of work from time to time
- Full Clean Driving License
- Ability to travel throughout the UK including overnight stays from time to time.
Level of education:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) or relevant work experience
Work experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical coordinator position within live productions.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience managing a team.
