Technical Coordinator

Technical Coordinator – Reading Office

Location: Vistry Thames Valley, Reading


About the Role

Join our team as the Technical Coordinator at our Reading office. In this role, you will manage and organise all technical information, ensuring seamless coordination between external consultants, internal departments, and the design-to-construction process. Your primary focus will be securing approvals, keeping all stakeholders aligned, and enabling timely on-site start dates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cross-departmental coordination:

    • Bridge communication gaps between external consultants, internal teams, and the construction robust phases.
  • Regulatory compliance:

    • Ensure timely submission and attainment of all approvals (e.g., planning, technical, statutory bodies).
    • Guided liaison on technical matters, including Section 38, Section 104, and s.ion 104 designs.
  • Project support and technical oversight:

    • Chair design team meetings and attend progress meetings on-site as required.
    • Co-ordinate planning approvals, address conditions, and ensure construction specifications align with client requirements.
    • Agree technical strategies, including SAP, breem (proofreading for reeM), and construction approaches.
    • Advise on the statutory bodies’ approvals, including engineering designs and ground remediation.
    • Assist with Temporary Works designs.
  • Document management and monitoring:

    • Maintain an up-to-date design pipeline in Viewpoint Platform for current contracts.
    • Consolidate detailed design and documentation to minimise delays.

  • Surely responsibility and adaptability:

    • Solve issues during construction and ensure work complies with evolving regulative requirements.

    • Partner with Commercial and Buying teams to review and approve subcontractor design submissions.
    • Facilitate cost-effective and buildable design decisions.

Requirements

Essential

  • Proven capability: Minimuim 3 years of experience in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
  • Indegnivalent: Demonstrated experience in residential housing projects.
  • Knowledge and compliance: Expertise in design controls, DS Trusts, technical assessment and Building Control Environment.
  • Administrative ability: Keen attention to details, accuracy, and project reporting.
  • Licensing: Current UK full driving license (or equivalent).
  • Integrity values: Conduct and decision-making aligned with our company’s Integrity, Caring and Quality ethos.
  • Soft skills: Abilities in:
    • Effective communication across all hierarchy levels.
    • Conflict Resolution and conveying key technical/construction information to teams.
  • Technological proficiency: Skilled in MS Office applications.
  • Proficiency in regulations: Compliance with BB10 agreement flow, obtaining last and assisting with regulatory challenges.

Desirable

  • Technical qualifications: Degree of Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or similar.
  • Revit Skills: Proficiency or course completion in CAD/REVIT principles.
