Technical Coordinator Location: Chelmsford/Waltham Abbey Salary: Competitive + Benefits Contract: Full-time, Permanent Make every detail count—coordinate the delivery of high-quality homes. As a Technical Coordinator at Hill, you’ll manage the delivery of accurate, buildable and compliant design information across multiple residential developments. You’ll work closely with consultants, statutory bodies, and internal teams—ensuring that each design stage supports our programme, budget and quality goals. This is a varied and collaborative role that plays a vital part in the success of our projects. You’ll contribute to planning approvals, construction readiness and customer satisfaction—all while supporting continuous improvement across the technical process. What you’ll do: Coordinate technical design packages and track progress against the design programme Chair and manage design team meetings, ensuring clear actions and issue resolution Liaise with Commercial, Construction, Sales and other departments to align information Review drawings for buildability, planning compliance and construction readiness Manage statutory approvals and planning condition discharge Support consultant appointments and ensure compliance with Hill’s procedures Review sub-contractor design inputs and coordinate technical content Respond to sales and customer queries with accurate, timely information Contribute to value engineering, product optimisation and technical handover documentation Ensure design outputs meet Hill’s Golden Thread, CDM and risk assessment requirements What we’re looking for: Working towards a relevant qualification (Degree, HNC/HND, or NVQ Level 5) Experience coordinating internal teams and external design consultants Strong communication, time management and organisational skills Awareness of CDM and Principal Designer responsibilities Understanding of Golden Thread principles and BIM Level 2 standards A collaborative and solutions-focused approach Customer-minded with an eye for design quality and compliance What you’ll get: 26 days holiday Private healthcare and wellbeing platform Hill Incentive scheme and retail discounts Volunteering days and continuous learning opportunities A high-performing and supportive team culture competitive salary and package Why Hill?
