Technical Design Assistant
Our client, a globally recognised premium women's wear fashion brand, known for their trend-led collections that prioritise fit and quality, is seeking a talented Technical Design Assistant to join their fast-growing product development team.
Role Overview
Working closely with the Design, Garment Technology, and Fabric teams, the Technical Design Assistant will assist in developing a diverse range of garments including:
- Woven and jersey dresses
- Separates
- Tailoring
- Outerwear
- Swimwear
- Nightwear
- Loungewear
Key Responsibilities
- Create accurate technical packs, CADs, and specifications from initial design handover to first sample
- Ensure each style aligns with the designer's vision and the brand’s premium quality standards
- Develop garment designs through the technical development process
- Use Adobe Illustrator to produce technical drawings
- Collaborate with offshore factories via PLM systems to communicate specifications
- Generate and refine specifications post-fitting sessions
- Support range reviews and ensure accurate timelines for production
- Work collaboratively across multiple departments to deliver premium, timely outcomes

Essential Requirements
- 1–2 years’ relevant experience in technical design or product development, preferably across various product categories
- Proficiency in:
- Adobe Illustrator (to produce technical drawings)
- Excel (for data management and reporting)
- PLM systems (for offshore communication)
- Strong understanding of:
- Garment construction
- Pattern cutting
- Fabric selection
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-quality environment
- Ability to communicate technical specifications clearly with offshore teams and internal stakeholders
