Job Title: Technical Designer (Full-time, permanent position)

Job Description

The primary focus of your role will involve technical construction planning, leveraging your specialist knowledge in construction (specific to experiential events, popup retail, TV & film) therefore scenic fabrication knowledge is a must for this role.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for solving complex design challenges efficiently and promoting a problem-solving mindset within your team; transforming client briefs into comprehensive structural plans and coordinating with various teams to ensure practicality in CNC fabrication.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in technical design, specifically in creative construction.
  • Specialist fabrication knowledge relating to the experiential events, popup retail, TV & film.
  • Proven ability to efficiently problem-solve and encourage a team of designers to adopt a similar approach.
  • Strong background in construction detailing and technical plan development, producing shop-ready drawings.
  • Knowledge of design for CNC & 3D Printing.
  • Proficient in Rhino, Sketchup and other relevant software.
  • Excellent skills in technical report writing and presentation.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a creative, fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new technologies.
  • Organisational skills, conscientiousness, and meticulous attention to detail.
