We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Technical Development Officer in the Joint Digital Services Division.
Could you be who we are looking for?
About The Team/Department You Will Be Joining
The Joint Digital Services Division (DSD) delivers a joint digital strategy across Gwent Police and South Wales Police to enable both forces to develop and implement new ways of working and deliver policing to our communities.
The role will sit within the Business Systems branch of DSD which helps support projects and the other branches of DSD. Our office is based at South Wales Police Headquarters in Bridgend, but we offer a hybrid working policy which supports working from your home.
About The Role And Your Key Responsibilities
The role will work on the Business Support Team for both South Wales Police and Gwent Police, working as part of a dedicated team, within a controlled project environment, which tackles competing business demands, ensuring that systems operate efficiently and opportunities to develop and enhance service delivery are maximised.
This fixed term role aims to support the implementation of the Citizen First Programme, one of the most significant digital transformation programmes currently underway across South Wales Police and Gwent Police. Citizen First is delivering a modern, Salesforce-based digital platform that supports how the Forces engage with victims, members of the public, and staff.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
