We are partnering with a premier global engineering consultancy to find an Electrical Technical Director to join their thriving Property and Buildings division. Your Team

You will be joining a highly respected Building Services department in London, consisting of over 100 Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) engineers.

About Your Role

As an Electrical Technical Director, you will have a proven track record of delivering UK Building Services projects that consistently meet and exceed client expectations. Your responsibilities will span across three core areas:

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Act in a joint leadership capacity within a multi-disciplinary MEP team, providing design, technical advice, and project management on a wide range of projects.
  • Serve as the client’s key point of contact, taking overall responsibility for project delivery, client deliverables, and internal KPIs.
  • Supervise the completion of detailed designs and guide colleagues in this function.
  • Direct others in the production of detailed and performance specifications.
  • Work under the clear direction of the client, interpreting the holistic needs of the project to ensure full delivery success.
  • Lead overall feasibility studies, considering discipline-specific requirements.

Business Development

  • Provide exceptional client care and identify opportunities to generate additional business for the team.
  • Develop and nurture client relationships to promote and secure new commissions.
  • Actively champion and promote the firm's capabilities and engineering expertise within the region.

Team Management

  • Take responsibility for the review and sign-off of detailed/performance specifications produced by the team.
  • Provide line management, mentorship, and development for junior staff.
  • Brief project teams regularly, ensuring appointments, contracts, and letters of intent are in place before work commences.
  • Maintain a comprehensive overview of the team's workload, working with Team Leaders to ensure resources are fully and effectively utilized across projects.
  • Hold regular team meetings to discuss resourcing, staff wellbeing, Health & Safety, quality, training, and strategic board briefs.
