We are seeking a talented and experienced Technical Director – Electrical Engineering to join our expanding data centre design team in London.

As we experience rapid growth, particularly in the data centre sector, we’re excited to invite a passionate individual to help us shape large-scale, multidisciplinary data centre projects. Our focus is built on the core values of integration, optimisation, and standardisation. As a key team member, you’ll work closely with architects, engineers, and clients to develop innovative and complex designs, driving project success through direct client engagement, collaboration, and efficient solutions.

The Role

As Technical Director – Electrical Engineering, your responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the electrical design lead for major data centre projects, leading a team across multiple international locations
  • Collaborating with architecture, structures, civils, sustainability teams, and clients to deliver innovative and multi-disciplinary designs
  • Orchestrating technical excellence, productivity, and team oversight, ensuring projects meet core deliverables and deadlines
  • Holding a recognised leadership position in data centre electrical design with a proven track record in managing design teams and projects

Key accountabilities:

  • Strategic vision, governance, and supervision – Have a deep understanding of data centre typologies and emerging technologies to strategically lead the design direction of our portfolio. Assist in informed and forward-thinking team growth and business development strategies.
  • Market foresight and change-readiness – Maintain current awareness of industry trends and development directions and adeptly communicate them across each team.
  • Customer intelligence – Understand data centre sector client delivery requirements through active engagement and translate them into impact and value propositions throughout designтельного journey.
  • Team development – Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers of all levels, inspiring innovation and fostering critical thinking.
  • Operational agility – Oversee project coordination, QA/QC procedures, risk management, and financial/cost leadership to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

What We Need

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification, along with Charttered membership preferred.
  • 10+ years of professional experience—specialising in data centre sector delivery, ideally with multiple international project experiences.
  • Deep knowledge of data centre typologies, including current and emerging technologies relevant to our industry.
  • Demonstratable experience as an electrical lead, including direct management of design disciplines, technical oversight, and relational intelligence to drive a project through each stage.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, enabling interaction with senior teams, clients, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in business development strategies and securing LM value via external proposal and business strategies.
