Our client, a high profiling technology organisation, urgently require an experienced Technical Director to run a major Maritime programme that they are delivering.
About the Role
In order to be successful, you will have the following background:
- Background within either UK Military, or working with the Military/MoD as a customer
- Experience of acting as a senior technical authority, providing architectural leadership
- Enterprise Architecture background across software engineering and platform delivery, including cloud-hosted services, APIs, DevSecOps, CI/CD and test automation
- Experience of introducing emerging technologies including AI, ML and data enabled services
- Strong and robust stakeholder management skills
- SC Cleared

Responsibilities
Within this role, you will be responsible for:
- Senior leadership role within a multi-year delivery environment, supporting thousands of uniformed personnel and civil servants
- Set the technical direction for the software house, ensuring digital products and services are aligned to MoD priorities and wider defence policy
- Define and maintain technical architecture roadmap
- Translate operational and business needs into coherent technical strategy
- Ensure that platforms, products, data, integration patterns and engineering approaches support long-term mission outcomes as well as immediate delivery priorities
- Provide technical leadership across complex code, low-code, data and platform services
- Work with stakeholders across MoD organisations
- Lead the approach surrounding modern engineering and emerging technologies
- Provide governance, assurance and risk management across the delivery portfolio
