This is an opportunity to join a Tier One Contractor's in-house Design & Engineering division, and support a business that has a genuinely integrated approach to engineering and project delivery. Rather than operating separately from construction, engineering is embedded throughout the project lifecycle, giving you greater influence, faster decision making, and the opportunity to see your solutions delivered on site.
You'll be involved in leading design services, working from feasibility through to completion, enjoying a level of project ownership and exposure that's difficult to find elsewhere.
The business is growing strategically and is seeking someone who wants to do more than simply deliver projects. This is a chance to help shape the future of the engineering function, influence culture, and contribute to the continued growth and professionalisation of the business.
Role: Reporting to the Group Engineering Director, you'll work for a supportive and highly engaged leader who values autonomy. She's looking for an experienced professional who can take ownership, operate independently, and bring solutions to the table.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
