Responsibilities
On the back of high customer demand and as part of our ongoing and successful growth in SAP ecosystem, we are looking for a Senior / Principal SAP Architect (focus Integration and Automation) for our cross-functional Global Field Specialists team within the Global Architecture unit.
In this role, you will also be responsible to:
- Driving, as a SAP subject matter expert and trusted global specialist, the SAP enablement for Solution Consulting, Professional Services, GTM & Marketing, Partner and Alliance, as well as Production Support teams across regions.
- Driving the adoption of Workato within the SAP ecosystem (SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP SaaS applications).
- Collaborating closely with Workato’s Product & Engineering teams on SAP-related product roadmaps, features and rollouts, supporting customer ramp up programs as liaison from the Customer Success business unit.
- Being a Workato evangelist with the ability to discover and demonstrate how Workato can effectively help companies with their business transformation and orchestration needs across a broad set of industries ( “Workato 4 SAP” motion )
- Participating as SAP/Workato advisor and chief architect in global complex, enterprise implementations together with Workato Professional Services to drive solution architecture and delivery practices.
- Contributing to our global practices and strategic programs like Black Belt program by creating and enhancing reference demos, presentations and accelerators, white papers and best practices, reference architecture patterns, and enabling our customers, partners and Workato internal teams to achieve their KPIs.

Requirements
Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills
- 8+ years of technology consulting and expertise in end-to-end solution architecture and full life cycle implementation on SAP PI/PO and SAP Integration Suite. Strong knowledge of SAP BTP services with focus on integration, automation and AI.
- Knowledge of SAP NetWeaver stack and SAP S/4HANA architectures
- Expert knowledge of ALL SAP interfacing technologies and methods, such as RFC protocol and RFMs, BAPIs, ALE / IDocs, OData, SOAP WebServices, XI Proxies etc. including end to end monitoring, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and performance tuning
- Solid foundational knowledge of SAP ABAP design, development, debugging and troubleshooting
- Proficiency with setting up ALE / IDoc configuration for IDoc exchange
- Proficiency with methodologies of developing and provisioning of OData services
- Familiarity with SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration and transformation approaches, key SAP methodologies and extensibility frameworks (SAP Clean Core, RAP, CAP, ISA-M etc.)
- Foundational understanding of core SAP business processes
- Experienced in cross-functional leadership through influence, without authority and formal reporting lines
- Proven experience working cross-functionally across business verticals such as GTM, Customer Success, Product, Production Support etc.
- Familiarity with SAP ecosystem
- Ability to travel to the client site up to 25%, but may be higher or lower based on prevailing circumstances
- Business English fluency (written and verbal)

Nice to Have
- Experience with EDI integration and trading partner onboarding:
- X12, EDIFACT, TRADACOMS, and other industry-specific standards like VDA
- EDI mappings and knowledge of transaction codes 850, 855, 856, 810, 997, etc. and their business purposes
- transport protocols such as AS2, SFTP, VAN, OFTP etc.
- EDI platforms and B2B gateways such as Seeburger, OpenText, Orderful etc.
- Experience in integrating non-SAP ERPs (MS Dynamics 365, Oracle NetSuite etc.) and business applications for CRM, HCM (Salesforce, Workday etc.)
- Foundational knowledge of at least one cloud platform such as AWS, MS Azure, GCP
- Foundational knowledge of AI technologies and techniques (LLMs, MCP / A2A, RAG, Agents and Agentic orchestration)
- Foundational knowledge of business intelligence and data orchestration in SAP ecosystem (SAP BW and BW/4HANA, SAP DataSphere, SAP BDC, SAP Analytics Cloud etc.)
- Knowledge of one or more programming languages - Ruby, Python, JavaScript, SQL etc.
- Knowledge of popular middleware and iPaaS solutions such as Boomi, Mule, TIBCO etc.
- Familiarity with industry specific business processes (Healthcare, Financial Services).
- SAP and other relevant certifications (AWS, Microsoft, Google etc.)
