Job Description

What if you could do the kind of work the world needs?

At WSP, you can access our global scale, contribute to landmark projects and connect with the brightest minds in your field to do the best work of your life. You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.

WSP is one of the world's leading engineering professional services consultancies. In the UK, our Building Structures team has been successfully delivering capital national infrastructure projects in the Energy sector—particularly within Transmission and Distribution—since the early 1990s. Our design teams are recognised as exemplars in the delivery of large, complex, multi-disciplinary projects across the UK.

We are now entering a significant growth phase and are looking to expand our leadership team with experienced and ambitious professionals. If you’re ready to take a strategic role in shaping the future of UK energy infrastructure, we’d love to hear from you.

A Little More About Your Role…

As a Technical Director you will take a senior leadership role in the delivery of structural engineering services for major energy infrastructure projects. These include Transmission and Distribution networks, Overhead Line (OHL) systems, power stations, and other critical energy assets.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
