About Building Ventilation Solutions
Building Ventilation Solutions Ltd is a fast-growing, family-run HVAC engineering company specialising in air handling unit (AHU) refurbishment, ventilation upgrades, controls work, and bespoke AHU manufacture across the UK.
We work across a wide range of sectors including healthcare, education, leisure, retail, commercial, and industrial environments.
Due to continued growth, we're looking to recruit two engineers to join our expanding team. Whether you're just starting your engineering career or already have experience working independently on HVAC and ventilation systems, we'd like to hear from you.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role working both on customer sites and, where required, from our office in Fordingbridge. Depending on your experience, you'll either work alongside experienced engineers as part of your training or take responsibility for leading site visits and technical work independently.
The role offers excellent long-term career progression, ongoing training and the opportunity to develop specialist skills within the HVAC and building services industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend customer sites to inspect, diagnose and identify system issues.
- Carry out or assist with AHU refurbishments, fan retrofits and ventilation system upgrades.
- Assist with or undertake removal, installation and commissioning of mechanical and electrical components.
- Assist with or carry out unwiring of existing AHU components and installation of new motors, controls and isolators.
- Produce clear, accurate and professional site reports.
- Support project planning, material selection and ordering.
- Safely use hand and power tools while following company procedures and site safety requirements.
- Maintain clean, safe and organised working areas.
- Build positive relationships with customers, contractors and colleagues.
- Travel to customer sites across the UK, with occasional overnight stays.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
