Role Overview
Working in some of the best venues and hotels in the UK, this AV Technical Events Manager will play a key role in planning, preparing, and delivering outstanding events, from small meetings to large-scale productions.
Key Responsibilities
Event Production & Technical Coordination
- Oversee planning, preparation, and set up/disassembly of equipment for events.
- Responsible for managing technicians and in-situ problem-solving during events.
- Serve as the primary client liaison, ensuring customer satisfaction by fulfilling expectations and requirements in real-time.

Sales & Account Management
- Proactively engage with clients to develop sales potential, interpret AV needs, and arrange necessary meetings.
- Build and maintain a portfolio of standardised set designs/visuals for client presentations.
- Maximise revenue by upselling services (e.g., production, video editing) at every opportunity.
- Participate in internal discussions to capture lost business opportunities.
Client Relationships & Feedback
- Develop and maintain a client database, including follow-ups after events.
- Promote repeat business and loyalty by converting on-off corporate clients into Encore accounts.
- Gather and act on customer/market feedback to improve service delivery.
Strategic & Financial Leadership
- Adhere to budget parameters and negotiate beneficial rates.
- Prioritise in-house resources before external outsourcing.
- Monitor sales targets and generate ideas to increase turnover.
Internal Collaboration
- Cultivate strong working relationships with hotel/venue staff (e.g., sales, banquet, front-of-house teams).
- Develop and implement service improvement plans with hotel teams.
- Address concerns or complaints and suggest practical solutions.

Team & Project Management
- Ensure operational support across London offices and team members (technicians).
- Collaborate with Event Producers (consultation/monitoring) during tender and pre-production phases.
- Attend regular meetings with the London office to evaluate delegate performance and timelines.
Tech & Reporting Systems
- Introduce standardised information systems (equipment tracking, quote generation, turnover reporting).
Required Skills & Experience
- Education: High School Diploma, GCSEs in Mathematics and English (or equivalent).
- Technical Knowledge: Proven background in AV/live events, with leadership experience.
- Hospitality Expertise: Preferred experience in service/hospitality industries.
- Specialist AV Preference: Experience with audio-visual systems or educational AV systems is a plus.
