Role description At Tata Technologies we make product development dreams a reality by designing, engineering and validating the products of tomorrow for the world’s leading manufacturers. Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Technical Expert – Antenna Systems to be based at our customer’s site in Bicester.
Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.
The Role:
We are seeking a Technical Expert to own the vehicle-level antenna system architecture, performance, and validation for automotive platforms. This role is responsible for end-to-end antenna system definition and integration for GPS/GNSS, DAB, FM/AM, and Satellite Radio (SXM), working closely with internal infotainment, telematics, EMC, and vehicle engineering teams, as well as managing Tier-1 suppliers. The position includes strong ownership of DFMEA and DVP&R activities and close collaboration with radio tuner and antenna amplifier development teams to ensure robust, production-ready RF performance.
Area of Responsibility
System Ownership & Architecture
Own the vehicle antenna system architecture across multiple vehicle platforms and programs
Define system requirements and performance targets for GPS/GNSS, DAB, FM/AM, and SXM antennas
Specify antenna concepts (roof, glass, shark-fin, bumper, mirror, etc.) considering styling, vehicle packaging, cost, and manufacturing constraints
Define interfaces between antennas, antenna amplifiers, cabling, and radio tuners
Vehicle Integration & Performance
Lead vehicle-level antenna integration, placement, grounding, and interaction with BIW, trims, and glass

Ensure optimal system performance in real-world vehicle environments, including mitigation of detuning, coupling, and noise
Work closely with radio tuner teams to optimize system sensitivity, selectivity, and robustness
DFMEA, DVP & Validation
Lead DFMEA for antenna and RF systems; identify risks, define mitigation strategies, and track closure across development phases
Own and approve DVP&R / DVP plans for antenna systems at component, subsystem, and vehicle levels
Review and approve validation results, ensuring compliance with OEM targets and regulatory requirements
Support DV/PV, EMC, and vehicle-level sign-off activities
Supplier & Program Management
Act as the technical interface to Tier-1 suppliers for antennas, amplifiers, and RF components
Review and approve supplier designs, simulations, DFMEA, DVP results, and change requests
Drive technical issue resolution with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Support sourcing decisions and technical evaluations during supplier nomination
Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate with infotainment, telematics, EMC, body engineering, styling, manufacturing, and quality teams
Participate in system design reviews, vehicle milestones, and program gateways
Contribute to OEM antenna standards, design guidelines, and lessons learned
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the antenna/RF domain
Knowledge / Experience
· Extensive experience with automotive antenna systems: GPS/GNSS, DAB, FM/AM, and SXM
· Strong experience working at vehicle system level within an automotive OEM environment
· Proven hands-on experience with radio tuners and antenna amplifiers, including system matching and performance optimization
· Solid understanding of RF fundamentals, antenna theory, and electromagnetics
· Demonstrated ownership of DFMEA and DVP&R in an automotive product development lifecycle
· Experience with antenna and RF testing: chamber, bench, and vehicle-level measurements

· Strong capability in interpreting RF performance data and driving system-level decisions
· Experience managing and technically leading Tier-1 suppliers
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Skills
· Experience defining OEM-level antenna performance requirements and standards
· Knowledge of EMC/EMI and vehicle noise mitigation strategies
· Familiarity with active antenna design, LNAs, filters, and RF front-end architectures
· Exposure to connected vehicle antennas (LTE/5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, V2X)
· Understanding of OEM vehicle development processes (APQP, DV/PV, PPAP, change management)
· Experience supporting global vehicle platforms and multi-region regulatory requirements
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, RF Engineering, or a related discipline
