Location: Prestwick – Hybrid, 3 days a week onsite

Salary: £48,098+ (dependent on experience)

Job Description
We are seeking a Technical Information Services Engineer to lead the development of future-focused technical information and documentation solutions within a major aerospace programme. The role involves engaging with:
- Customers
- Industry experts
- Cross-functional stakeholders
to define and capture requirements, develop concepts and strategies for end-to-end Technical Information Management, and shape next-generation digital solutions incorporating technologies such as AR/VR and cloud-based platforms.
You will collaborate closely with:
- Engineering teams
- Digital teams
- Procurement
- Supply chain teams
to ensure that technical information requirements are integrated throughout the programme lifecycle, while producing plans, specifications, and delivery strategies that support:
- Operations
- Maintenance
- Training
- Upgrades
- Through-life support
Additionally, you’ll coordinate activities, contribute to programme planning, and ensure successful delivery of technical information and documentation outputs.
Core Duties
- Supporting concepts, specifications, and philosophies for the management of technical information/publications/documentation from design through to end-user (for FCAS)
- Developing use cases and determining technology requirements for a next-generation Technical Information Management solution (e.g., AR/VR, digital/cloud-based infrastructure)
- Working with stakeholders across other programme teams (e.g., Core Platform Design Teams, Digital Engineering Strategy Team) to integrate Technical Information Management requirements
- Collaborating with Supply Chain & Procurement teams early to communicate through-life technical information requirements to the supply base
- Supporting strategies & plans throughout the lifecycle for Technical Information Management, including:
- Design of technical information solutions
- Development and authoring of publications/information
- In-service technical information management

Essential Skills
- Strong knowledge of UK Military Aviation Authority (MAA) regulatory frameworks and requirements
- Excellent understanding of engineering principles and the entire product lifecycle (from concept through to in-service support)
- Experience in managing technical information and documentation, with expertise in:
- Configuration control processes
- Best practices
- Degree-qualified in a relevant STEM discipline, or equivalent experience in engineering
The Technical Information Services Team
You will join a collaborative engineering team responsible for shaping the future of:
- Technical Information Management
- Technical Documentation for advanced combat air programmes
Your role involves:
- Working alongside:
- Systems engineers
- Platform design teams
- Digital engineering specialists
- Supply chain and procurement professionals
- Defining requirements and developing innovative technical information solutions that support the full product lifecycle
- Offering significant exposure to:
- Customers
- Industry subject matter experts
- Key programme stakeholders
- Influencing how technical information is created, managed and delivered to support:
- Operations
- Maintenance
- Training
- Through-life support
- Operating in an agile environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Contributing to the development of next-generation digital engineering and technical publication capabilities
