Role Overview
Thirteen Group is on the lookout for a Technical Inspector on a permanent basis to join our Repairs and Maintenance team.
The role involves carrying out technical inspections and damp and mould surveys in our customers’ homes, providing advice, and ensuring a right first-time approach to scoping works.
This is a roam role which means you’ll work in customers’ homes across our operating area across the Tees Valley and beyond. You’ll be expected to work at least a day a week from our fantastic office at Hudson Quay in Middlesbrough. We’ll need you to be flexible around business and team need, so you may need to come into the office more frequently when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a range of specialist inspections including inspecting, diagnosing and addressing damp issues, and supporting our Repairs and Maintenance team with various inspection requirements.
- Provide clear and detailed advice and support to customers on a range of technical enquiries, including damp and mould.
- Determine and scope rectification works for damp and mould.
- Ensure all works are passed to the admin team within timescales to be logged to contractors.
About You
- Sound knowledge of planning and building regulation requirements and procedures.
- You don't necessarily have to have damp and mould experience, as long as you're willing to learn.
- Someone who is customer focused and understands all aspects of delivering a first-class service in a challenging commercial environment.
- Able to prioritise your workload, whilst maintaining all aspects of health and safety.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with external stakeholders, customers and colleagues.
- Comfortable using IT systems, including MS Office applications and basic CAD skills.
- You’ll have a full UK driving licence, with access to a vehicle and the ability to travel across our operating area.
