Role: Band 4 Therapy Technical Instructor

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 4 Therapy Technical Instructor to join the Acute Therapy team on a 9-month fixed-term contract.

About the Role

As a Therapy Technical Instructor, you will work collaboratively with Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to ensure a high-quality, patient-centered approach. The role involves working closely with patients to optimize their ability to perform activities of daily living and to maximize independence. The role will also include non-clinical tasks such as record keeping, data collection, admin tasks, and equipment maintenance.

The position can be physically demanding and requires excellent communication skills. You will be required to write directly into electronic medical notes, so a good standard of written work is essential. Due to the busy nature of the wards, you will also need to be resilient and organized.

Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate some understanding of the role of therapies and rehab in the acute setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a therapy assistant in acute or community settings. No professional qualifications are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide both clinical and administrative support to the Acute Therapy team across AMU and A&E.
  • Show initiative, motivation, and excellent organizational ability when working closely with therapy staff to develop administrative support and systems for the therapy team.
  • To work without direct supervision, but under the direction of a qualified staff member, in the performance of specific tasks for an individual or group/class as part of the treatment and rehabilitation programme.
  • To use a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively with patients and carers.
  • Post-holder will be expected, after appropriate training, to perform manual handling tasks.
  • Demonstrate time management & prioritization skills.
  • Communicate to the therapists, and other members of the multi-professional team, changes in the patient's condition, response to intervention, and relevant discharge plans.
  • To provide cover for other Support Staff across the service during periods of absence.
  • Required to work with their team on service development and quality assurance projects.
  • Participate in 7-day service rota where appropriate.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
