Technical Support Lead Contract Position • 12-Month • UK-Based
JAB Recruitment is seeking a Technical Support Lead for a pivotal 12-month contract. This role will provide essential technical and project support across asset integrity management systems projects—spanning upstream, midstream, and downstream energy assets.
Location & Flexibility
- UK-based with remote working and occasional travel to Woking/Aberdeen or project sites as required.
About the Role
Ideal for an engineering professional with expertise in:
- Technical documentation
- Project support across integrity-focused domains (e.g., subsea, topsides, corrosion, inspection, mechanical engineering, or consultancy). The role focuses on reducing pressure on core project teams, enhancing quality and consistency of deliverables, and facilitating technical outputs—including reports, procedures, manuals, and related documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Concurrent project support: Provide hands-on technical assistance across multiple live projects.
- Quality assurance: Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure consistency, technical accuracy, and on-time delivery of outputs.
- Documentation review & development:
- Review reports, procedures, and manuals for coherence, clarity, and alignment with project specifications.
- Contribute structured inputs to technical documents (structured reports, procedures, supporting materials).
- Project coordination: Assist with:
- Progress tracking
- Deliverable coordination
- Basic planning support
- Flexible resource: Step in as a multi-disciplinary backup during workflow peak periods.
- Collaboration: Partner with internal technical teams, project personnel, and stakeholders to maintain deliverable control.

Qualifications & Experience Required
✔ Degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience), preferably in mechanical engineering or related fields. ✔ Desirable: Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or active pursuit of chartership. ✔ Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in one or more of: technical/equipment integrity, project engineering, insulation, corrosion, subsea systems, topsides, inspection, mechanical engineering, or consultancy. ✔ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office—especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. ✔ SharePoint experience (advantageous). ✔ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English. ✔ Technical details orientation: Detailed-focused and capable of rigorous documentation review.

Preferred Background
🔹 Asset Integrity Management Systems (AIMS) expertise. 🔹 Familiarity with consultancy, engineering services, or operator-facing projects. 🔹 Exposure to:
- Topsides, subsea environments, corrosion, mechanical inspection, or pressure systems.
- Developing technical deliverables such as:
- Inspection reports & documentation
- Management system content
- Procedures & manuals. 🔹 Self-starter mindset: Thrives in fast-paced, less-structured project environments. 🔹 Remote working capability: Expertise in autonomy, priority management, and quality under minimal oversight. 🔹 Cultural adaptability: Respectful collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
