Freelance Technical Interior Designer – Workplace & Commercial
About the Role A London-based interior design studio is seeking a freelance Technical Interior Designer/CAD Technician to assist with ongoing and upcoming projects in office fit-out and refurbishments. This role is perfect for technically skilled individuals with a rigorous attention to detail, supporting the design team from concept through to execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed technical drawings in AutoCAD, covering all stages—concept to construction
- Develop and coordinate General Arrangements plans, detailed designs, and construction drawings
- Ensure all drawings comply with UK building regulations
- Provide technical detailing and design coordination in support of the design team

Requirements
Must possess:
- Proven experience with AutoCAD specifically within commercial/workplace interior design, ideally on CAT B office fit-out projects
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, able to produce highly detailed, high-quality technical and construction drawings
- Strong understanding of commercial fit-out detailing, construction methods, and UK building regulations
- Excellent communication, organisation, and independent working skills

Desirable Skills (but not mandatory)
- Experience with Revit or other BIM software
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Contract Details
- Rate: Competitive £250–300 per day
- Start Date: Early/mid-July
- Duration: Ongoing freelance contract
- Working Location: In studio
- Software Provided: AutoCAD licence will be supplied
