🚀 Technical Lead – AI Engineering & Architecture | Remote UK - £80K
An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Technical Lead to join an innovative technology business shaping the future of AI-enabled software engineering.
This is a unique opportunity for a senior technical professional who enjoys staying hands-on — someone who wants to influence architecture, write code, solve complex engineering challenges and help teams adopt the next generation of AI-assisted development practices.

What you’ll be responsible for:
- Defining scalable, secure architecture across a growing product portfolio
- Leading technical strategy and architectural decision-making
- Staying hands-on with coding, reviews and complex technical challenges
- Driving adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices across development teams
- Establishing engineering standards, patterns and best practices
- Improving software quality, scalability, security and delivery consistency
- Mentoring engineers and helping build a stronger technical culture

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
