Innovation Engineering Lead (AI/LLM Development) – Factor

Location: US-based (remote/hybrid) Contract Type: Full-Time Team Size: Small (~2–4 engineers) Industry: Legal Technology, Professional Services

About Factor & The Role

With a legacy as a pioneer in artificial legal service provider (ALSP) solutions, Factor has pioneered Integrated Law™—a revolutionary approach merging:

  • Traditional legal expertise
  • New Law efficiency
  • In-house legal integration

Forge contracted solutions at enterprise scale, partnering with corporate legal departments (e.g., Fortune 500 companies, global banks, pharma, and tech firms) to tackle scale-driven challenges like contracting and compliance.

The Innovation Team’s Mission

Build custom AI-powered tools and legal workflow client solutions, blending software engineering with cutting-edge AI. A self-sufficient, high-autonomy internal group, this team is responsible for delivering systems that enhance lawyer productivity, streamline legal processes, and unlock new business value.

As the lead, you’ll balance technical execution, team guidance, and strategic direction for a hybrid-working unit operating across EMEA/NA.

Key Responsibilities

🔧 Engineering & Delivery

  • Steer end-to-end development of client-facing software and AI-powered legal workflow tools, serving high-end law firms and professional services.
  • Architect and design systems from strategy to deployment, with 100% ownership of feasibility, technical pipelines, and scalability.
  • Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI capabilities into production legal applications (e.g., contract automation, matter workflows).
  • Assess RFPs/internal projects, balancing urgency, complexity, and resource feasibility.
  • Cloud infrastructure management: AWS, Azure, GCP, via IaC (Terraform, Bicep) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
  • Cross-team contributor: Work closely with legal technologists, product, and UI/UX leads.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
