Technical Lead, AI Software and Tools – Innovation Team

Join Factor and shape the future of Integrated Law™ with cutting-edge AI-driven solutions for legal workflows.

About the Role

Factor is revolutionizing the Alternative Legal Services Provider (ALSP) market with Integrated Law™, blending traditional legal expertise, New Law efficiency, and in-house legal integration. As a trusted partner to Fortune 500 companies—including global banks, pharmaceutical giants, and tech leaders—we enable clients to tackle complex demands like commercial contracting with faster, more innovative delivery.

The Innovation Team develops bespoke client-facing software and AI-powered tools to empower lawyers. This role is for a hands-on technical leader who will:

  • Code, architect, and ship custom solutions for global legal firms
  • Mentor and manage a team of 2–4 engineers with high autonomy
  • Bridge the gap between technical and business stakeholders
  • Drive ops excellence with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) and DevOps pipelines

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Delivery

  • Lead the design and delivery of custom legal-tech applications, including AI/LLM-powered features for contracts, workflows, and client portals
  • Define and refine architectural decisions, balancing scalability, usability, and innovation
  • Evaluate RFP scope and feasibility, advocating technical trade-offs
  • Build and maintain long-term projects—ensuring robustness, performance, and security

Team Leadership

  • Be the team’s AI/ML thought leader, staying current with emerging tools and frameworks
  • Cultivate a culture of experimentation—share knowledge, prototype ideas, mentor engineers
  • Work closely with the VP Go-To-Market to position engineering decisions for commercial success
  • Managing people & growth:
    • Conduct 1:1s, conduct career development initiatives, and lead technical onboarding
    • Set and uphold high engineering quality standards (testing, reviews, observability)
    • Scale the team through hiring, training, and skills audits

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
