We are seeking a Technical Lead to join our Data, Analytics & AI team within a professional services environment. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for the design and delivery of capabilities supporting the firm’s cloud data platform, Datacore.

Operating across Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, and wider Azure services, the role will help federated and client-facing teams adopt Datacore safely, consistently, and effectively. The Technical Lead will work closely with:

  • Data Architects
  • Platform Teams
  • Delivery Teams

To translate architectural principles into platform capabilities, implementation patterns, reusable technical standards, and utilise Datacore.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for the design and delivery of Datacore platform capabilities, cloud data services, and reusable engineering patterns
  • Support client-facing teams in adopting Datacore safely and consistently across development of new data products and services
  • Define reusable implementation patterns for common Datacore use cases, including:
    • Ingestion
    • Medallion architecture
    • Data quality
    • Orchestration
    • Semantic modelling
    • Publication
  • Define and promote controlled engineering practices across Datacore assets, including:
    • Source control
    • Development
    • Testing, deployment
    • Validation and support
  • Identify opportunities to improve Datacore capability in:
    • Efficiency
    • Lineage, discovery
    • Automation, observability
    • Cost effectiveness
  • Work closely with:
    • Data architects
    • Technical teams
    • Business partners
    • Internal stakeholders
  • Align technical delivery with business priorities

Requirements

  • Significant experience in:

    • Cloud data engineering
    • Data platform delivery
    • Data product implementation within an enterprise environment
  • Strong, practical understanding of:

    • Microsoft Fabric
    • Azure Databricks
    • Azure data services or equivalent cloud data platform technologies
  • Proven ability to:

    • Translate architectural principles into implementation patterns, technical standards, and development work packages
  • Experience in:

    • Designing and delivering scalable, secure, and supportable data products
    • Cloud data services
  • Strong understanding of:

    • Lakehouse architecture
    • Medallion patterns
    • Data ingestion, transformation, orchestration
    • Data publication
  • Experience supporting federated or distributed delivery teams via:

    • Technical guidance
    • Design review
    • Enablement
    • Reusable delivery patterns
