Make an Impact at RSM UK
We are seeking a Technical Lead to join our Data, Analytics & AI team within a professional services environment. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for the design and delivery of capabilities supporting the firm’s cloud data platform, Datacore.
Operating across Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks and wider Azure services, the role will help federated and client-facing teams adopt Datacore safely, consistently and effectively. The Technical Lead will work closely with data architects, platform teams, and delivery teams to translate architectural principles into platform capabilities, implementation patterns, reusable technical standards and utilise Datacore.
The role requires strong cloud data engineering expertise, practical delivery leadership and the ability to enable teams across the firm. It will help ensure that client teams can build scalable, secure, observable and auditable data products, while driving platform evolution through reusable patterns, technical innovation, efficiency improvements, and catalogued approaches for wider adoption.
You’ll Make An Impact By
- Providing technical leadership for the design and delivery of Datacore platform capabilities, cloud data services and reusable engineering patterns
- Supporting client-facing teams in adopting Datacore safely and consistently across their development of new data products and services
- Defining reusable implementation patterns for common Datacore use cases, including ingestion, medallion architecture, data quality, orchestration, semantic modelling and publication
- Defining and promoting controlled engineering practices across Datacore assets, including source control, development, testing, deployment, validation and support
- Identifying opportunities to improve Datacore capability, efficiency, lineage, discovery, automation, observability, and cost effectiveness
- Working closely with data architects, technical teams, business partners, and internal stakeholders to align technical delivery with business priorities

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
