About Framatome
Framatome is a global leader in nuclear energy, delivering innovative solutions that support safe, reliable, and low-carbon electricity generation. In the UK, we play a key role in supporting the country's existing nuclear fleet and future energy ambitions.
As part of our Engineering function supporting Sizewell B, you'll have the opportunity to lead technically complex projects that contribute directly to the safe operation and long-term performance of one of the UK's most important nuclear power stations.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead Engineer to join our Engineering team supporting projects at Sizewell B. This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative engineering leader who enjoys bringing multidisciplinary teams together to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
Acting as the technical focal point for projects, you'll work closely with Project Managers, clients, and engineering specialists to coordinate technical activities, manage engineering delivery, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You'll review and interpret client technical specifications, assess engineering requirements, clarify technical queries, and coordinate engineering work across multiple disciplines to deliver successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical coordination of multidisciplinary engineering projects from initiation through to delivery.
- Review client technical specifications, analyse project inputs, and manage technical clarification requests.
- Define engineering work packages across disciplines including Systems Design, Mechanical, Piping, Layout, Electrical, and Control & Instrumentation.
- Prepare technical specifications, scopes of work, and requests for proposals for internal engineering teams and external suppliers.
- Organise project kick-off meetings and facilitate regular technical progress reviews.
- Coordinate the resolution of technical issues, working collaboratively with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of technical proposals and bids by reviewing contract requirements, identifying engineering resources, and developing delivery plans.
- Provide regular technical updates to Project Management and Engineering leadership.
- Build strong relationships with clients, helping to understand future engineering needs and contribute to the continued growth of Framatome's engineering capability.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
