Technical Lead
Developer / Tech Lead (Java / AWS)
6-Month Contract | Outside IR35 | Hybrid (Glasgow) | Up to £550 per day
We’re working with a key public sector client looking to bring in an experienced Developer / Tech Lead to support a critical modernisation programme. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll work within an established engineering team to deliver improvements to existing services, meet legislative requirements, and drive cost efficiencies.

- Provide technical leadership and direction within a delivery team
- Lead the development and modernisation of Java-based microservices
- Work closely with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
- Support the delivery of public-facing digital services
- Mentor and coach junior developers, promoting best practices
- Contribute to an Agile delivery environment with a focus on engineering standards
Key Skills Required

- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot (microservices architecture)
- Solid experience working with AWS cloud services
- Experience with TDD and unit testing frameworks
- Proven background operating at senior or Tech Lead level
- Experience working on complex delivery programmes (public sector experience desirable)
- Good working knowledge of JavaScript and modern development practices
- Strong mentoring and knowledge transfer skills
