About Frieze
Frieze is an international media and events company based in London, with offices in New York and Berlin and a market-leading position within contemporary art. The fairs comprise Frieze London, Frieze Masters, Frieze New York, Frieze Seoul, Frieze Abu Dhabi and Frieze Los Angeles; publishing includes frieze magazine and other titles; and frieze.com is the day-to-day hub for the brand proposition and a destination for cultural consumers.
Frieze has been a dynamic critical voice in contemporary art since 1991 and, since becoming part of the MARI group, continues to grow and develop the ambition to be a cultural brand of global influence.
About the role
Frieze has a small in-house development team working across our suite of digital platforms, collaborating closely with specialist agencies and partners. The Tech Lead will take ownership of the technical direction for our platforms, owning deliverables, architecture and engineering standards, and shaping the team's culture and ways of working - including mentoring and managing developers.
Reporting to the Director of Digital, the Tech Lead is the most senior technical person in the company and combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership. You will work alongside the Product team, which sits within the wider Digital team, partner with external agencies, and collaborate closely with teams across Frieze - including Data, Marketing and VIP - to deliver against our roadmap. We are increasingly using AI tooling to improve development speed and workflows, and the Tech Lead will be expected to champion and embed these practices across the team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
