Role Overview

You'll lead the design and delivery of a mission-critical FX trading platform used by traders and sales teams globally. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll shape architecture and drive the development of scalable, high-performance trading applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and architecture and support a front-office FX trading platform.
  • Build and enhance enterprise-scale Java applications supporting Spot FX, FX Forwards and NDF products.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Traders and Business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Drive engineering best practices including code reviews, design reviews, automated testing and CI/CD.
  • Mentor and coach developers through pair programming and technical leadership.
  • Participate throughout the Agile software development lifecycle from requirements through production deployment.
  • Support production releases and provide third-line application support where required.
  • Champion continuous improvement across architecture, performance, scalability and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience developing enterprise Java applications within a banking or capital markets environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate and REST APIs.
  • Experience designing scalable, distributed, high-availability systems.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns and engineering best practices.
  • Experience with Oracle SQL, messaging technologies (MQ/REST) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Test-Driven Development (TDD) and DevOps practices.
  • Equips with solid communication skills with the ability to lead technical delivery and engage business stakeholders
  • Experience with FX trading systems (Spot, Forwards, NDFs) is highly desirable.
